Holiday travel headache

Tuesday, November 28th, 2006

Holiday season is coming. Everybody is travelling: students are returning home from college, families are visiting the relatives, some are going on sunny beaches or in mountains for skiing. But for the business travelers this season is not good. Going on time at a meeting is not possible. Everybody is trying to get somewhere, and all are rushing. In this period my recommandation is to be patient and to try to solve your problems through the new technology solutions like internet, videoconference. Also try to avoid the crowded airports. If that can’t be possible then try to get direct flights. That way, one late flight won’t have a domino effect on your travel plans. Get your gadgets like smartphones or laptops with you, and get some extra batteries and electrical adapters, and just in case get a good book. That will save you from few hours of boring waiting. Be smart and plan your trip in detail. Have a nice travel!

7 days in Rome

Monday, November 27th, 2006

From 26th to 31st January 07 we will be in Rome for 7 days, 6 nights. We found a real bargain for our plane tickets. About 60 euro ($80) for a round trip flight. Going with WizzAir and returning with SkyEurope. All these being scheduled we had to get our accommodation in Rome and that was not really easy if you are trying to find a cheap great looking hotel.

There are many places in Rome to visit, this is why staying in the center is a must. You won’t have time to rent a car so you will either walk the city or get yourself moving with the local transportation. That is why you should choose a hotel in the center. We found hotel D’Este in the Santa Maria Maggiore basilica. It’s a 3 star hotel and we will be paying 28 eur each, with breakfast included (person in the double room).

We have 7 days to visit everything that can be visited. We want to see the Colosseum, Fontana di Trevi, the Spanish Stairs, St Peter’s church at the Vatican, the Pantheon, the museums at the Vatican, the Protestant Cemetery, Foro Romano, Borghese Gallery, the Palatine Hill, the Jewish Ghetto and so on. You can read here more about some of Rome’s attractions.

I really plan to enjoy this brief holiday the most. Can’t wait for 26th january to fly away to Italy.

A Disney vacation

Friday, November 24th, 2006

Either you are a kid or not, having children or not a Walt Disney World vacation can always be a good idea. It’s a place where dreams come true, where wishes big and small lead to happily ever after.

You can plan your Disney Vacation in World Disney World Resort (near Orlando, Florida), Disneyland Resort (Anaheim California), Disney Cruise Line (Mediterranean and Caribbean cruises), Tokyo Disney Resort, Disneyland Resort Paris, Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, Disney Vacation Club and you can take your own adventure with Disney-trained adventures guides.

They even have an offer for a magical vacation right that moment: for less than $1600 a family of four can enjoy a 7 days vacation at a Disney Value Resort (2 adults, 1 junior and 1 child in a standard room available between : 12/19/06 - 01/01/07 and 04/15/07 - 12/19/07).

You can order a free DVD of Disney Parks and sights here.
Here are a few pictures that may convince you as well as the other 36 million visitors (last year in all six theme parks) with around 16 million in Orlando, and about 14 million in California:

Good news from Dorfgastein

Thursday, November 23rd, 2006

In winter I’ll visit Austria for skiing. We are going in Dorfgastein, a little resort in Austrian Alps. First, we wanted to go in Zell am See, but one of my friends found this fine resort Badgastein. Good news are that in Alps starts snowing. We are going there in January, but we are glad to hear that winter is close in Alps.

Badgastein is in Salzburg administrative area. The distance from Wien(Vienna) is around 500km by car, and 450km on motorways. The closest airport is in Salzburg, at 88km. From Salzburg, you can get there with bus or train. In Gastein area are over 300 km of skiing slopes. I hope it will be a great vacation in Alps.
